A Discantus partbook from a set of four volumes. Copied by a single scribe. Several parchment fragments from a (13th-14th century?) chant manuscript pasted on flyleaves at beginning of each book. Repertorial connections with CambraiBM 125-8 and print RISM 1540/7. Possibly copied in Low Countries, perhaps near Bruges. Books later rebound and presented to Mary Tudor, Queen of England, perhaps by a Netherlandish dignitary or by an Englishman coming from Low Countries (BernsCE). Only known source of secular music owned by Queen Mary. Eventually incorporated in Old Royal Library, which passed to newly founded British Museum in 1757.
