General Description

A Tenor partbook from a set originally of five volumes. Copied by one main scribe and several additional scribes; Courteville piece, a late 17th-century addition, entered upside down and in reverse order. Most secular pieces have text incipits or titles only. Many concordances with GB-Lbl Add. 31390, but no direct connection between the two manuscripts is apparent. Copied in England. Purchased by British Museum 'at Dr. Blip's sale' in 1858.
