General Description

Copied by Netherlands court scribe Petrus Alamire or a scribe of his school (Kellman), in Brussels/Mechlin. Warmington identifies scribe C2 and scribe E as music copyists, with text underlay by scribe X. Recovered from Plantin bindings (2 fragmentary parchment folios from same original manuscript, now pasted to covers of MS B 948 IV in this library).

24 fragmentary parchment folios, most ca. 535-50 x 380-90 (some now smaller due to mutilation and trimming; original size probably ca. 565 x 390), recovered from Plantin bindings, and 2 fragmentary parchment folios from same original manuscript, now pasted to covers of MS B 948 IV in this library. Folios in poor condition; some music illegible or trimmed away. Modern pencil foliation, 1-24. Copied by Netherlands court scribe Petrus Alamire or a scribe of his school (Kellman); see general index for other manuscripts copied by Alamire. Staff height 22. Inked calligraphic initials.

Ca. 1512-34 (Kellman). Copied in Brussels/Mechlin; belongs to Netherlands court complex.
