General Description

Main hand is that of Netherlands court scribe Petrus Alamire (KellJ); Warmington however distinguishes the hands of the music scribes D, D var, and E, as well as possibly of Alamire and scribe C2; and the text hands of D var and X (KellmanTO). Copied in Brussels/Mechlin; belongs to Netherlands court complex (KellJ). Sent to Munich for presentation to Wilhelm IV, Duke of Bavaria (1493-1550); placed in ducal court library, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
