General Description

Main hand is that of Netherlands court scribe Petrus Alamire (KellJ); Warmington however distinguishes music/text hand F; music hands D and K2; and text hands K and Z (KellmanTO). Copied in Brussels/Mechlin; belongs to Netherlands court complex (KellJ). Perhaps one of the manuscripts sent to Emperor Charles V in Spain, mentioned in court pay records of 1524-6. Passed in 1558 to Charles' son, Philip II, King of Spain (1527-98); listed as #60 in 1602 and 1620 inventories of Philip's books.
