A Discantus II partbook from a set of 8 volumes (related to and sharing a nuber of concordances with the set LonBLM G.9-15). Music copied by a single scribe, employed by Edward Paston (see BrettEP for list of other books in the same hand and for discussion of related manuscripts from Paston's circle). Early 17th century. Of English provenance; originated in the household of Edward Paston (1550-1630) of Norfolk, a country gentleman and collector of music. The manuscript (together with Add. MS 34000) appears to have belonged to Thomas Oliphant and John Pyke Hullah in the 19th century. Purchased by British Museum from G. Linnell, Esq. in 1891.
