RISM

XVe s. 139ff. (dont les 2 premiers n. ch.). Papier, 168 x 118 mm. Foliotation ancienne chiffrant 1 le 3ef. : 1-137. Le 2ef. n. ch. et le f. 137v. sont blancs. Notation mesurée blanche. 6 portées par p. Au 1er f. n. ch., table incomplète du ms. Capitales ornées à la plume. Reliure ancienne (très restaurée) cuir brun estampé, restes de fermoirs de métal.

Ce. ms. provenant de la Bibl. Medie. Palatina a été écrit à la fin du XVe s. en Italie, si l'on en juge par l'orthographe fautive du français, probablement à Florence. L'écriture ayant de fortes ressemblances avec celle des marqueteries du studiolo de Federico de Montefeltre, on peut fixer la date de la compilation du ms. aux environs de 1480, date à laquelle on sait que les deux artistes Bacio Puntelli et Francesco di Giorgio Martini ont travaillé au palais d'Urbino (JeppesenVF). Sur les 86 compositions, on compte 68 chansons françaises, 13 italiennes, 2 espagnoles, 1 flamande et 2 pièces dont on n'a pu rétablir le texte.
