RISM

XVIe s. 79ff. dont le 1er n. ch. (+ 4ff. limin. n. ch. et 1 à la fin). Papier, 116 x 170 mm. Foliotation ancienne; 1-78. Notation mesurée blanche. 6 portées par p. Table du ms. sur 2 desff. limin., les autres sont blancs. Reliure ancienne cuir estampé.

Ms. provenant de la Bibi. Med. Palatina. Le filigrane (aigle couronné) et le répertoire franco-flamand, très proches de I-Fn 229, incitent à penser que le ms. est d'origine florentine et à le dater des toutes premières années du XVIe s. (sinon de la fin du XVe), d'autant plus qu'il ne présente pas moins de 18 concordances avec l'Odhecaton et 3 avec les Canti B publiés à Venise en 1500-1502. A part 3 pièces latines, 4 chansons flamandes, 3 italiennes et 2 espagnoles, le ms. contient 63 chansons françaises, sans que l'on puisse affirmer cependant qu'il soit l'oeuvre d'un copiste français, l'orthographe s'éloignant souvent du texte réel (nos 4, 5, 41, 42, 63 par exemple). Pour toutes les pièces, seul l'incipit des paroles est noté.
