RISM Description

RISM B/IV 2: An early 15th century parchment codex meas. 243x321 mm. and consisting of 247 folios numbered in modern pencil at t.r.r. In addition, there are two further old flyleaves at both front and back and two modern paper flyleaves at both front and back. None of these are numbered. The previous 18th century binding was of tan calf. The present one dates from 1933 and is of three-quarter brown morocco. The spine bears the words Guillaume de Machaut || Oeuvres || Chartier || La Belle Dame Sans Merci || French || XV Cent. || M 396 in gold leaf.
