Other names scribbled on f. 80': 'Francoys Petit,' 'Aqua Brossemonoye,' 'Jaques Bernar Simon,' 'Gillet Boenon,' 'Francoys Rossynol,' 'Michau.' Later owned by the French litterateur Pierre-Claude Nivelle de la Chaussée (1692-1754). Purchased at Sotheby's sale in 1939 by the musicologist Geneviève Thibault, Comtesse de Chambure (1902-75); passed to Bibliothèque Nationale after the latter's death.

Inscription "de palacio bit" on f. i suggests presence of manuscript at ducal palace in Bourges [= Bituricensis]. Ex libris of early (original?) owner on f. i: "Hic liber discantus mea interest Jo. Gueri . . ." Other names scribbled on f. 80': "Francoys Petit," "Aqua Brossemonoye," "Gillet Boenon," "Jaques Bernar," "Simon Lelun," "Francoys Rossynol," "Michau Ribie." Possibly owned by the French litterateur Pierre-Claude Nivelle de la Chaussée (1692-1754).
