Covers of dark yellow parchment, in poor condition, with remnants of two leather ties, probably date from 16th century or later. Red velvet slipcase embroidered in silver thread with coat of arms of Marquis de Laborde; slipcase enclosed in modern cardboard box.

Painted initials and borders in earliest layer (new ff. 8-87', 136, 138'-139); ff. 88-101 have less elaborate decorative initials painted by different artisans than those who decorated earliest layer; other folios undecorated.
