General Description

A Superius partbook from a set originally of four volumes: the other surviving volumes are B-Br IV 1274 (Altus) and Tournai, Bibl., 94 (Tenor). Copied by two scribes (ff. 1'-16 and ff. 16'-29' respectively). First scribe also wrote ff. l'-16' of TourBV 94 and most of LonBL 35087; second scribe also wrote ff. 17-30' of TourBV 94 (KesselsC). Bought from antiquarian bookseller C. Van Loock (Brussels) in January 1996.

Original leather covers, blind-tooled with animal figures and borders inscribed: 'Ludovicus Bloc / ob laudem / xpristi librum hunc / recte ligavi'; Louis Bloc, book-binder, was active in Bruges, 1484-1529 (IndS).

Copied by two scribes (ff. 1'-16 and ff. 16'-29' respectively). First scribe also wrote ff. l'-16' of TourBV 94 and most of LonBL 35087; second scribe also wrote ff. 17-30' of TourBV 94 (KesselsC).
