General Description

A Bassus partbook from a set originally of five volumes. Copied mostly by one scribe, who also appears in DresSL 1/D/3, DresSL 1/D/506, BudOS 22, BudOS 23, ZwiR 81/2, ZwiR 100/4, and ZwiR 106/5 (SteudeU). #25 was added by another hand, c. 1575; the last piece is also a later addition, with inscriptions 'Scripsit Johannes Musculus 17. Julii 1626' at end of the Altus book, and 'Adjecit Georg Seidlerus' at end of the Bassus book.

Copied in Wittenberg (SteudeU). Purchased from Butsch Antiquariat in Augsburg in 1858.
