Foliation

This fragment should be referred to as: MS Add. 5963(8). 'Folio 13' refers to the foliation of the paper leaves onto which the fragments have been mounted within a large, late 19th-/early 20th-century bound volume illustrating the history of handwriting. Since this volume is now much deteriorated, and the leaves would be better housed flat and in window mounts, the folio reference should be disregarded. While it may become redundant in the near future, the library will ensure that a record is kept of the fragments' arrangement within the bound volume, so that no confusion should arise with those publications that refer to f. 13.
