RISM Description

RISM B/IV 2: Four parchment fragments meas. respectively 120 x 108, 142 x 136, 178 x 63 and 268 x 40 mm. Except for strip d, all the fragments seem to be top left-hand corners with ornamented black initials from a motet manuscript in Ars Nova notation with red coloration dating from c. 1400. The incipits given are those which are clearly the beginning of a polyphonic voice. Fol. a has 3 five-line staves, f. b has 4 and f. c a few notes on 5.5 staves. Fol. b verso refers to Edwardus, and so may be connected with the Confessor in item 3. The recto of strip d ends with the words "Jhesu dulcis", while the verso contains a T.
