General Description

The contents, mainly edificatory, are by J. Rudham, the 14th century owner of the MS, John Falmyngham, William Dalling, etc. Fol. 249v contains a text by Rudham on the see of East Anglia, ending with a list of the bishops of Norwich; fol. 248 contains 8 Gloria patri tones. Most of the codex is written in a highly abbreviated script. The music appears in Petronian notation on f. 246v-262. Fol. 246v-247 are upside down, but this must have been an error of the scribe since f. 247v is the right side up. The musical contents are mainly motets, but there are also sequences. Item 14 is in score with the text under both parts.

Fol. 248 contains 8 Gloria patri tones in plainsong notation on four-line staves, followed by Fuit homo in another hand + some 15th century white notes in mensural notation.
