General Description

Fragments (some a full bifolio, others tiny scraps of notation) from a single manuscript (? but at least two scribes) from about 1450-70. These fragments contain the Zachara Credo 'du Vilage'. At some point after Henrik Glahn's inventory of 1962, an unrelated(?) manuscript was added to the 17a collection with the fragment number 2409. This is the bifolio that contains the 'Or sus' fragment. It was discovered by Dragan Plamenac and appears in his 1974 letter to JAMS. This leaf was originally part of the Carmelite monastery of Cologne. Plamenac does not mention it, but since the music for 'Or sus' appears on Av, Br, and Bv, it must be the innermost bifolio of a gathering. Note that Plamenac was too quick to dismiss the 'single-voice' In Nomine on the first page -- it could be the end of something more important and should be investigated.
