General Description

Apparently the only surviving remnant of a Superius partbook (from an original set of 3?). Copied by a single scribe. Probably copied in Durham, for use at Cathedral Priory (Benedictine).

Physical Description

Poor condition; some music now illegible. Wright 2013 reports that the work on f. 2v previously reported to be a Credo (Bowers 1983) is no longer decipherable and its classification therefore cannot be confirmed.

1 fragmentary parchment bifolio, ca. 175-275 x 420-53, trimmed from original size of ca. 320 x 460 (i.e., folio size of ca. 320 x 230). Apparently the only surviving remnant of a superius partbook (from an original set of 3?).

Poor condition; some music now illegible. Restored and mounted within protective sheets; preserved loose in modern paper folder. Black chant notation on red 5-line staves; mensural values greater than one beat indicated by repeated notes on same pitch. Copied by a single scribe. Staff height 14. No initials or decoration.

Ca. 1450 (BentSF). Probably copied in Durham, for use at Cathedral Priory (Benedictine).
