General Description

A Tenor partbook (FlorL Ashbr. 1085 is Altus book from same set). Copied by two main scribes and four additional scribes. Copied in France; earliest layers (pp. 2-16 and pp. 65-80) probably compiled for Jacques Daillon, a courtier and soldier of Francis I (Rifkin, based on coat of arms on p. 2). Yellow tab stamped in gold inside front cover reads: 'Ex libris / de / La Roche / La Carelle.'
