General Description

A set of Corteccia's hymns, with additions, copied by Gianpiero Masacone, who copied FlorD 4, 11, and 27, and who may also have copied BolC Q21 and ChiN M91. Copied in Florence; the scribe was connected with the Medici court and the church of San Lorenzo during the middle decades of the 16th century.

i + 129 + i paper folios, 550 x 410. Two sets of foliation, 1-123 and 1-129. Original covers of parchment pasted to cardboard. No index. Copied by Gianpiero Masacone, who copied FlorD 4, 11, and 27; he also may have copied BolC Q21 and ChiN M91. Watermarks found in the main body of the manuscript are Briquet #6293 and #6086; the watermark on the guard sheets resembles, but is not identical to, Briquet #13888 (Crawford).

i + 131 + i paper folios, 550 x 410. Original ink foliation, 1-120, on upper right rectos (several errors, omissions, and inconsistencies; some numbers altered by later hands). Modern pencil foliation, 1-129, on lower center rectos (one folio following f. 114, and one folio following f. 115 unnumbered). Original covers of parchment pasted to cardboard. No index. Copied mostly by Gianpiero Masacone; see general index for other manuscripts copied by the same scribe. Several later additions by other scribes. Inked calligraphic initials. Watermarks: (1) Briquet #6293; (2) Briquet #6086; (3) resembles Briquet #13888 (Crawford).

Mid 16th century. Copied in Florence.
