General Description

A Discantus partbook from a set of five volumes; a Sextus book is probably missing. Copied by several scribes, one of whom may have been Wolfgang Figulus. Copied at the Fürstenschule St. Afra in Meissen; later in possession of Friedrich Birck, cantor at the Fürstenschule St. Augustin in Grimma from 1591 until his death in 1621. After Birck's death, his widow sold the manuscript to the Grimma Fürstenschule; in 1890 it was deposited in the library at Dresden.
