General Description

Once part of larger musical manuscript; 36 additional folios from same manuscript now LucAS 184. (GhiI assertion that PistAC 5 is likewise part of original manuscript refuted by PirrL). Copied by a single scribe. Copied entirely in Lucca (PirrL). Main corpus copied elsewhere in northern Italy; manuscript later brought to Lucca, where additions were entered (ClercxJC). Original manuscript disassembled c. 1485-1589; folios used as covers for legal documents. In 1935, Prof. Giovanni Cecchini recovered present 6 folios from legal documents in this library (documents formerly in Archivio di Stato, Lucca).

3 bifolios. Original size c.235 x 162 mm. Modern incorrect foliation 1-6. Original foliation LVIII-LVIIII and LXXXI-LXXXIV. 8 black 5-line staves per page.

RISM B/IV 4: 14./15. Jh.; 6 Blätter Pergament, ca. 219-232 x 147-161 mm (zum Teil beschnitten); ursprüngliches Format ca. 235 x 162 mm. Moderne, aber falsche Bleistiftfoliierung von f. 1-6; originale Foliierung (meist gut lesbar) von f. LVIII-LVIIII und f. LXXXI-LXXXIV. Je Seite 8 schwarze Fünfliniensysteme mit schwarzer und schwarz-roter Mensuralnotation um 1400. - Einband: moderner Kartoneinband (20. Jh.); Blätter in unrichtiger Reihenfolge eingebunden (f. 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4).

Die drei 1935 in Perugia entdeckten Doppelblätter gehören in den 4. und 6. Faszikeln der Handschrift I-Las 184. Jedoch gehört das Fragment Pistoja nicht zu dieser Handschrift Alles weitere siehe unter I-Las184.

i + 6 parchment folios, 217-30 x 148-60 (trimmed from original size of ca. 235 x 162). Once part of larger musical manuscript; 36 additional folios from same manuscript now LucAS 184. (GhiI assertion that PistAC 5 is likewise part of original manuscript refuted by PirrL). New pencil foliation, 1-6 (folios now bound in sequence: 2, 3, 1, 4, 5, 6). Occurring at the foot of a page headed with Ciconia's name Ghisi, Pirrotta and Clercx are inclined to give it to Ciconia. Bent/Hall note its archaic style, however.
