General Description

Polyphony on rear flyleaf; latter apparently the only surviving remnant of a liturgical music manuscript of unknown size. Polyphony probably copied in Trent or vicinity (BentNS). Folio with music removed from original context and used as flyleaf when Breviary rebound (15th century?). Now owned by Biblioteca Comunale, Trent, but permanently deposited at Museo Provinciale d'Arte.

Roman Breviary, with polyphony: 1 Credo fragment

529 + i parchment folios, 326 x ca. 235. Sporadic and inaccurate foliation and pagination systems designate rear flyleaf as f. 523 (= pp. 1063-1064). Rebound in modern covers of white leather over wooden boards. Polyphony on rear flyleaf; latter apparently the only surviving remnant of a liturgical music manuscript of unknown size. Black mensural notation on 6-line staves, with black void and red full coloration. Staff height 20.5-21. No initials or decoration.

Early 15th century (= polyphony; Breviary dates from late 14th century). Polyphony probably copied in Trent or vicinity (BentNS). Folio with music removed from original context and used as flyleaf when Breviary rebound (15th century?). Now owned by Biblioteca Comunale, Trent, but permanently deposited at Museo Provinciale d'Arte.
