General Description

Apparently the only surviving remnant of a partbook, now serving as wrapper of a late 16th century book of theological notes (80 paper folios, 155 x 105mm). Copied by a single scribe. Copied in England. In late 16th century, parchment folio removed from original context, trimmed, folded, and used as wrapper for notebook owned by the clergyman Anthony Higgin, dean of collegiate church at Ripon (Yorkshire) from 1608 to 1624. Higgin may have purchased the leaf during an earlier period of residence in Cambridge. Passed to Ripon Cathedral Library after Higgin's death in 1624.

Contains Bassus of Fayrfax O Albane deo grate (bb. 297-end in Roger Bray's edition), as well as the beginning of an unidentified Salve regina
