A Tenor partbook from a set of six. Bound with the print Opus musicum (1558): the first ms piece appears before the print, the remaining seven after it.
Copied by several scribes, probably including Wolfgang Figulus, at the Fürstenschule St. Afra in Meissen. Following Figulus' death (after 1588), the manuscript went to his son-in-law, Friedrich Birck, cantor at the Fürstenschule St. Augustin in Grimma from 1591 until his death in 1621. After Birck's death, his widow sold the manuscript to the Grimma Fürstenschule; in 1890 it was deposited at the library in Dresden.
