General Description

Tenor or contratenor for 'Qua capit ethere' on f. 1'; tenor or contratenor for 'Salve festa dies' on f. 2, copied by a different hand. . Copied in England. Later owned by the antiquarian Sir Thomas Phillipps (1792-1872); purchased by Bodleian Library in 1908 at a Sotheby's sale of items from Phillipps' library.

136 parchment folios, 127 x 110. New pencil foliation, 1-135 ("111" applied to two consecutive folios). Original(?) covers of brown leather on cardboard, with tooled oval design in center; new spine. Front and back flyleaves (= new ff. 1-2 and 133-135) are remnants of a hymnary. Tenor or contratenor for "Qua capit ethere" on f. 1'; tenor or contratenor for "Salve festa dies" on f. 2, copied by a different hand. Some music obliterated by later trimming. No initials or decoration.
