General Description

Originally 3 distinct manuscripts. A (f. 1-6v dating from the second quarter of the 13th century) contains formulae for ecclesiastical and lay letters. B (f. 7-24v dating from the mid-14th century) contains the (liber) correctorius secundum ordinem Biblie, a treatise on the accentuation of words in the Bible. C (f. 26 to the end dating from the first quarter of the 15th century) contains in a small monastic script various scientific treatises, e.g. an algorismus, a calendar of archbishops of York, the treatise on the sphere by Johannes de Sacro Bosco. The music on f. ii is in three-part score, with the cantus firmus in the middle part. Fol. ii has the remains of a stub, now otherwise lost, containing the following music page of a bifolio.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 2: A parchment manuscript meas. 175 x 133 mm. and containing ii+95+i folios. 95 folios are numbered at t.r.r. in modern pencil; f. i and the final unnumbered paper flyleaf are recent; f. ii is the 14th century music. Originally this codex was 3 distinct manuscripts. A (f. 1-6v dating from the second quarter of the 13th century) contains formulae for ecclesiastical and lay letters in a very small minuscule script with red initials. B (f. 7-24v dating from the mid-14th century) contains the (liber) correctorius secundum ordinem Biblie, a treatise on the accentuation of words in the Bible in a larger script with red initials and red acute accents.
