General Description

One of a group of five fascicle-manuscripts, each containing a single piece: this fragment consists of 2 folios, original size c. 435 x 270 (1 Magnificat). (See also RISM description below.)

Fragments A-D copied by a single scribe. Probably copied at San Petronio; pieces possibly composed by resident musicians. These folios were found in the binding of I-Bsp MS A.XXXVIII by the archivist Sergio Paganelli in 1966 or 1967 (an earlier statement here that they had been found in covers of several 16th-century manuscripts at San Petronio, was incorrect – see RISM).

RISM Description

Corrected statement about the origins of the leaves and the statement on the watermark; also added detail to the one item in the inventory (i.e. that it is a Magnificat 'octavi toni').
