A Tenor partbook from a set of six volumes. Each volume is a modern compilation (by J. J. Maier) of originally separate items, of varying sizes. Some items probably copied in Augsburg; others probably of French or Netherlandish origin. Owned by Johann Heinrich Herwart (1520-83) of Augsburg. Herwart collection purchased by Wilhelm V, Duke of Bavaria, in 1585; placed in court library at Munich, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

Watermarks: (1) crossbow in circle surmounted by fleur-de-lis (resembles Briquet #760-2); (2) crown (resembles Briquet #4890-4934); (3) pot with flowers; (4) Gothic letter "P" (probably Briquet #8827); (5) coat of arms of city of Augsburg (Briquet #2112); (6) anchor in circle; (7) bird with cross (Briquet #12169). Some watermarks also appear in MunBS 274a and MunBS 1503b
