DIAMM Note

Books 1-6 are catalogued as Löbau 8, books 7 and 8 are Löbau 70.

Of the 16 pieces copied before 1600, none has 7-8vv so none are in this book. After the first 4 pieces in the book, the 7a (and 8a) voices of the next 14 pieces which require them are copied into the 8a book; the first of these is dated 1601. Copying in the 7a book begins again with the 'Sagittarius' piece dated c.1624/5.
