General Description

An Altus partbook from a set of eight volumes. Copied by Christoph Nostwitz and at least 29 other scribes, many of whom are named in the manuscript. Copying begun in 1592 on commission of the Löbau Senate. A succession of various scribes from Löbau, Bautzen, and Zittau continued to make additions over a period of many years; the latest piece was entered c. 1685. Formerly in the Löbau Ratsbibliothek, the manuscript was deposited at the library in Dresden in 1890.
