The first part consists of a Guidonian hand (f. 1), and the treatises of Theogerus of Metz (f. lv-7) and Dietricus (f. 7v-8). From f. 9-20 there is a Processionale Monachorum, followed on f. 20v to the end by an Ordinary and other liturgical pieces. The first polyphonic piece belongs to part 1 of the manuscript, and follows the treatise of Dietricus.

RISM B/IV 1: A 14th century parchment manuscript meas. 197 x 107 mm. and consisting of two distinct parts. Of its 39 folios f. l-8v contain musical treatises and f. 9 to the end plainsong in an entirely different hand. The first part consists of a Guidonian hand (f. 1), and the treatises of Theogerus of Metz (f. lv-7) and Dietricus (f. 7v-8). From f. 9-20 there is a Processionale Monachorum, followed on f. 20v to the end by an Ordinary and other liturgical pieces. The codex was bought by "Philippus Jacobus Abbas Monast. S. Petri in Silva Nova die 20. Novembr. 1780", according to a note written on the inside of the front cover. The binding is of parchment over wooden boards with an ornamentation of roses in blind tooling. An original clasp is missing. The first polyphonic piece belongs to part 1 of the manuscript, and follows the treatise of Dietricus. The notation is black of Notre Dame type, and is written on red five-line staves. The second part of the volume employs blue as well as red initials, and has less staves per page than the first part, e.g. f. 8v has 10 staves to the page while f. 37v has only 7 red four-line staves. Longs and breves are not differentiated in this source.
