General Description

Contains sermons (f. 1-18), De veritate theologica by St. Thomas (f. 19-112) and edificatory works by John Waldeby (f. 112-198). 6 pages contain music. The 2 folios at the beginning contain 2 Sanctus and a Te Deum, while there are sequences at the end. On f. 198v is a reference to a 15th century owner: Henry Groom, a cleric; on f. ii verso the 17th century owner wrote: 'Joh. Causton, Rector de Clopton Coteley in Comite Suffolk. June 25, 1627'.

RISM B/IV 1:

A 14th and 15th century vellum manuscript meas. 275 x 210 mm. and containing ii + 202 folios numbered in modern pencil at t.r.r. An old brown ink foliation dates from the 15th century and runs from f. 112-197. Evidently this was the beginning of a second manuscript since the old numbering runs from 1-85. The original binding of skin is preserved, though underneath it is a new light brown leather covering for the wooden boards. The contents are: sermons (f. 1-18), De veritate theologica by St. Thomas (f. 19-112) and edificatory works by John Waldeby (f. 112-198).
