General Description

1 polyphonic motet (à 4) in an Antiphonal of 257 folios, containing mostly monophonic music. The polyphonic piece appears on ff. 1'-2, which are flyleaves. The Antiphonal belonged to the Collegiate Chapel of St. Mary and Holy Angels, at York.

The manuscript is an Antiphonal containing mostly monophonic music; the polyphonic piece (à 4) appears on ff. 1'-2, which are flyleaves. Inscription on f. 2': "Iste liber pertinet ad capellam beate marie / virginis / et sanctorum angelorum / et archangelorum ebor" (copied twice, in two different hands).

Ca. 1480? (Hughes). Belonged to the Collegiate Chapel of St. Mary and Holy Angels, at York.
