General Description

A Discantus partbook from a set of five volumes. Copied by Sebastian Pulveranus (inscriptions at end of B and Q/S books). Copied in Breslau,for use in local evangelical services at Church of St. Mary Magdalene. Dedication to Bartholomeus Magnus Kaevesius at beginning. Manuscript later transferred to Breslau Stadtbibliothek. Missing since World War II; contents and composers known from BohH.

Original numbering of pieces, 1-16, excludes responses and groups some Mass Propers for same feast under single numbers.

*"Orlandi" attributions applied to several parody Masses may refer only to Lassus motets, chansons, etc. which served as models, but Lassus' authorship of the Masses themselves remains a possibility.
