General Description

A Discantus partbook from a set of five volumes. Each book consists of print RISM W168, with manuscript additions on front and back flyleaves of DATB books. Copied by two scribes. Copied in Augsburg? Probably owned by Raimund Fugger the Elder (1489-1535), of Augsburg (shield in Tenor book probably intended to depict Fugger family coat of arms; inscription on title page of Tenor book, possibly added by Raimund: 'im 1527 kauft ich dise buchlin um 40 czener vom Harder bei unser Frawen.') Fugger library purchased by Emperor Ferdinand III and brought to Vienna in 1656.

Each book consists of print RISM W168, with manuscript additions on front and back flyleaves of DATB books. No foliation in manuscript sections. Rebound in modern covers of brown leather over pasteboard, gold stamped with double eagle, initials of voice designations, and inscription "WALTHER'S / GEISTL. GESANG-BÜCHLEIN."
