General Description

A 'Primi Chori' volume. Earliest layer copied by Giordano Passetto (ca. 1484-1557), maestro di cappella of Padua Cathedral from 1520 until his death; Passetto also copied PadBC A17 and PadBC D27 (ConstRM). Five additional scribes probably include the composers Guainaro, Mosto, and C. Porta, also maestri at Padua Cathedral. Copied in Padua, for use by cathedral choir.

MSD25 ("PrimiChori"): 41 + i paper folios, 390 x 265. MS D 26 ("Secundi Chori"): i + 41 + ii paper folios, 390 x 265. Foliation, not original, on rectos (missing on some folios); some modern pagination, inaccurate. Original covers of parchment on pasteboard. No index. Earliest layer copied by Giordano Passetto (ca. 1484-1557), maestro di cappella of Padua Cathedral from 1520 until his death; Passetto also copied PadBC A17 and PadBC D27 (ConstRM).
