RISM Description
RISM B/IV 2: A 14th century parchment manuscript meas. 327 x 239 mm. and containing 112 folios. In addition, one blank unnumbered paper flyleaf at each end goes with the red morocco binding, which is ornamented with gilt tooling. The modern, probably 19th century foliation at t.r.r. is in ink. The codex is an Antiphonal, written in square plainsong notes up to f. 15v, then in Beneventan neumes. Part I employs 7 black four-line staves per page with c and f clefs, which are coloured yellow and red respectively. Part II has mainly blue-red initials, but also plain brown ones. On f. 112v is a late addition in longs and ligatures, using an f clef, followed by some jottings in pedes muscarum. Apart from one or two longs, the whole piece is written in ligatures, and both staves and music are in brown ink. This piece could be 15th century.

Diese römische Handschrift des frühen 14. Jh. enthält eine Sammlung von Schriften des Bonaiutus de Casentino über Ereignisse zur Zeit der Päpste Coelestin V. und Bonifaz VIII. Ab f. 34 folgt ein Moraltraktat. Musik steht nur auf f. 20r/ 22r; auf f. 20r/v befinden sich je 1 Elflinien- und 2 Zehnliniensysteme mit schwarzer Mensuralnotation des frühesten 14. Jh. Der einstimmige Hymnus Sanguis demptus (f. 21v/22r) ist in Quadratnotation geschrieben.
