A Discantus partbook from a set of five volumes.Early layer (of which different fragments remain in each book) copied by single, unidentified scribe; main layer (beginning at Senfl's "Ich armes meidlein") copied by Christoph Piperinus, who also wrote portions of BasU F.IX.32-5 and BasU F.X.22-4 (KmetzH). Copied in Basel. Early layer completed by the time DATB books were acquired in 1510 by the Basel lawyer and humanist Bonifacius Amerbach (1495-1562) (inscription on back cover of B book: 'Bonifacius Amorbacchius Basil M.D.X.'). Later, Christoph Piperinus, music teacher for Amerbach's son Basilius (1533-91), added new paper to existing DATB books, prepared Q book, copied main layer, and presented books to Basilius. Acquired by present library from Amerbach estate c. 1661.

Dates from 1535 to 1546 in manuscript. The name "Bonif. Amerbach" appears in the T ; "Basil. Amerbach" appears in the D and A. Bonifacius Amerbach (1495-1562) was a prominent citizen of Basel, professor at the University of Basel, and a member of the city council. Basilius Amerbach was his son.
