Watermark
(1) resembles Briquet #478-96 (also found in PadBC D27); (2) resembles Briquet #760; (3) resembles Briquet #6292-9 (but with five-pointed star); (4) cross? (not in Briquet).

XVIe s. (1522), 188 ff. Papier, 558 x 420 mm. Foliotation ancienne au v des ff. Les ff. 1, 42v, 187v sont blancs. Notation mesurée blanche. 12 portées par p. Au f. 188 r-v: Incipit tabula hujus libri.
La date du ms. est donnée au f. 188v à la suite de la Table par le scribe lui-même: «Frater Jordanus Pasetus Venetus ordinis predicatorum scripsit hec manu propria ad laudem Dei 1522.» Le ms. a donc été écrit en 1522 pour l'usage de la cathédrale de Padoue de la main de Giordano Pasetto, qui y fut maître de chapelle de 1520 jusqu'à sa mort en 1557. Avec son répertoire franco-flamand et français de 124 motets où domine Mouton avec 18 compositions, suivi par Josquin (9), Willaert (6), Richafort et A. de Silva (5), et une vingtaine d'autres compositeurs parmi lesquels 3 italiens seulement, ce ms. constitue l'une des premières et des plus importantes sources qui aient introduit en Vénétie la polyphonie complexe des grands compositeurs franco-flamands déjà pratiquée dans les grandes chapelles de Cour comme Ferrare, Florence, Milan, Rome ou Naples.
