General Description

This is the only remaining folio from a manuscript contemporary with and probably similar to BolC Q15. It was trimmed from its original larger size to serve as a cover for a later book. Probably from northern Italy.

XVe s. 1 f. Parchemin, 192x212 mm.

Pas de foliotation. Notation mesurée noire et rouge sur portées rouges. 6 portées par p. Capitales ornées en coul.

Ce ms. consiste en un seul f. très rogné à sa partie inférieure, tiré par le P. Martini d'une reliure ancienne. Il porte le n° 23 dans un recueil musical factice maintenant coté Q 1 (Cod. 12 par Martini) dont il constitue le seul exemple de musique polyphonique et dans lequel il a été relié à l'envers par erreur, le r° actuel étant en réalité le v* du f. original. Il contient au r° du f. 1e Ct d'un Gloria et au v° le Sup. et le T d'un autre Gloria que l'on trouve aussi, complet de ses 3vx. aux ff. 78v-79 du Ms. Q 15 du Civico museo (I-Bc 15) avec le nom de Hubertus de Salinis. L'écriture, très semblable à celle de Q 15, pour la musique comme pour le texte et les ornements, permet de dater aussi Q 1 de ca. 1430-1440.
