General Description

Flyleaves with polyphonic songs of the mid-14th century (ff. 1-2v, 79-80v), in a 13th century missal of 80 folios. There are also a few pages of a 14th century missal (ff. 6-9), a calendar (ff. 3-5 v) and a sequentiary (ff. 71-78v).

The 4 folia (all single leaves) are now bound as fly leaves at the beginning and the end of the ms. as follows: new fol. 1 = old (ca. 15th cent) 18 [xviii]; new fol. 2 = old 23 [xxiii] // new fol. 79 = old 19 [xix]; new fol. 80 = old 22 [xxii]. As the pages have been re-bound not in their original sequence, the musical text is not continous. (communication from Dr. Florian Mittenhuber.)

Vitry motet foliation corrected to 1r. The description says all the Ars Nova music os on the flyleaves (1-2v, 79-80v); but the inventory has all the pieces on 18/19, 22/23 (which, acording to decription, are part of the plainsong missal). All the foliations shown have therefore been adjusted, while retaining the same order & organisation. Confirmation from the Burgerbibliothek pending!
