General Description

Sermons by St. Bernard on the Song of Songs. A flyleaf precedes the sermons and this contains an isolated Mot of the end of the 13th century; at the end is an Ave, regina celorum mater of the 14th century. On f. 145v a contemporary hand has written Liber sancte Marie in Hilaria.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A 12th century parchment manuscript from the Cistercian nunnery of Wilhering containing 145 folios. On f. 145v a contemporary hand has written Liber sancte Marie in Hilaria. The binding is of pigskin over wooden boards. The contents are sermons by St. Bernard on the Song of Songs. Initials are illuminated in red, blue, green and yellow. A flyleaf precedes the sermons and this contains an isolated Mot of the end of the 13th century; at the end is an Ave, regina celorum mater of the 14th century. The notation of the Mot is of rudimentary mensural type, using breves and semibreves only. The five-line staves, of which there are 7, employ g, c and f clefs simultaneously.
