RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A parchment ms dating from the latter part of the 13th century and meas. 75 x 52 mm. This Processional is even smaller than Don, with which it has much in common. It probably originated in a Dominican nunnery near the borders of Germany and Switzerland. There are altogether 181 folios in a red leather binding with two leather clasps. The square plainsong notation is on five red four-line staves per page, and single notes are represented by the long throughout. The foliation is in modern red ink at t.r.r. The main initials are blue, red or both; others in black or brown (f. 1-91). From f. 92 the hand changes and the initials are small but in red and blue simultaneously. From f. 163v-172v the script and notes become broader, so that the square notes are now rectangular.
