General Description

A miscellaneous collection of letters, accounts and a section of the printed History of Reims dating from the 18th century. F. 67 and 68 contain music. The first is a section of a rotulus: items 1-3 and 5 are in two columns and items 4 and 6 in long lines, like the ends of the motet Tr; The texts show Picard forms ('ch' for c), and the presence of 2 chaces is also suggestive of a North-Eastern French origin. The other pieces are 2 Latin and 2 French bitextual motets from the early Ars Nova repertoire. The second page, f. 68, contains 2 three-part Rondeaux in score. At the top and bottom of the stave are pen tests for the musical notation.
