General Description

Used as a wrapper for a survey book of Longload Manor in Somerset, an estate that was owned by Winchester College (see Thomas Frederick Kirby, Annals of Winchester College: From Its Foundation in the Year 1382 to the Present Time : with an Appendix Containing the Charter of Foundation, Wykeham's Statutes of 1400, and Other Documents and an Index (1892), p. 254).

The verso is blank, except for the inscription 'Langlode: m: / Com: Som: / 17'. The music is on the recto, copied by a single scribe. Copied in England.

Rolled up and almost impossible to flatten. Bottom corners folded in and stitched in place so they could not be adequately folded out. 2 captures made of the recto to try and get the information in the gutter. documents inside the wrapper very delicate which made unrolling difficult.

1 parchment folio, originally ca. 540 x 400, later trimmed to present size of 440 x 330 for use as wrapper of survey book of Longload Manor, an estate owned by Winchester College, dated March 1550. Verso blank, except for inscription "Longlod: m: / Com: Eom: / 17." Music on recto, copied by a single scribe. Staff height 15. No initials or decoration.

First half of 16th century. Copied in England.
