General Description

Folios, of varying sizes, recovered from bindings; now preserved in modern guard book. Music found only on f. 109 (478 x 315) and f. 113 (179 x 330); each folio copied by a different scribe. Presumably copied in England. (However, all concordant sources for piece on ff. 109-109' are of Italian origin).

i paper + 124 parchment + i paper folios, of varying sizes, recovered from bindings; now preserved in modern guard book. New pencil foliation, 1-124. Modern covers of green cloth on cardboard. Music found only on f. 109 (478 x 315) and f. 113 (179 x 330); each folio copied by a different scribe. Painted initials in red and blue on ff. 109-109'; no decoration on ff. 113-113'.

Late 15th century (HughM). Presumably copied in England. (However, all concordant sources for piece on ff. 109-109' are of Italian origin).

General Note

the fragment on 109 (Deposuit potetentes / Suscepit Israel) is from the same Magnificat as the Anima mea section on 109v -- the recto/verso is inverted. The piece is probably by Busnois, being very like the attributed Busnois Magnificat in Brussels 5557 [R J Mitchell].
