A choirbook of 150ff. described on f.1 as a book of responses for Easter, but on f. 149 as a book of responses for Easter and Christmas; it now contains mostly music for Holy Week, but no responses for Christmas. Copied by two main scribes, but with contributions from at least 9 others. Inscriptions on the cover locate the book in the diocese of Vic, and state that it belonged to the parish of S. Miquel in Barcelona in 1643; and composers named are mostly local to that region. (Similar inscriptions of the parish of S. Miquel from the 1620s and 1630s occur at the beginning and end of the book.)
If 'Pedro Egidio Fontseca' is Pedro de Fonseca 'Luzio' (c1610- after 1665), as suggested by Mazuela-Anguita, then the section of his responsories (ff. 76v-85) must have been added in the mid-17th century.
Probably copied in Vic at the instigation of Onofre Maertinez, maestro de capilla at the Cathedral (named in inscription on cover), and later transferred to S. Miquel in Barcelona.
