General Note

A marginal note states 'faciens Joao Cardoao'. If 'faciens' implies authorship, it is not clear who Joao was. The famous Manuel Cardoso's brother was Andre, not Joao. The chapel master at Braga 1674-1677 was Joao Cardoso, who may hav spent time at Evora (perhaps as a choirboy) but was clearly not the composer - not clear what he was 'doing' ('faciens') with the ms if it is him?
