General Description

Only music is 3-voice piece, 'By a forest as I cum passe,' on ff. 19'-21. (Text refers to death of Cardinal Wolsey in 1530). Scribal concordance with LeedsU s.s. Possibly copied in Cambridge. Formerly part of a larger volume of late l5th-century theological tracts, in which two pieces of music were added on blank openings during the 1530's. For subsequent history, see LeedsU s.s.
